With several departments notifying their employees of the ability of a four day workweek, we wish to highlight that pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement between SENA 9158 and the City of Boston all 4 day work week requests can be rescinded either by the City of Boston and/or the individual SENA member with a fourteen day advance notification. This proviso is stated on the submission sheet and no reason has to be provided for rescission by either party.
In conjunction with the Walsh Administration I am pleased to announce that all public sector employee unions within the City of Boston have unanimously agreed to a new health care plan. This successor agreement becomes effective on July 1, 2015 and remains in effect until June 30, 2020.
In part, the agreement calls for a one-time $5.00 increase in co-payments in FY2015, and 0.5% premium increase in FY 15, 16, & 17 with no further increases in 2018 & 2019. Whereas most city and towns within the Commonwealth are on the
I am pleased to address you as the new President of SENA Local 9158.
As you may have heard John Zuccaro retired on January 29,2016 after forty years of service with the city and subsequentiy resigned as President. He announced these intentions at the Officers and Stewards meeting in October , and pursuant to the procedures of the USW Constitution I was unanimously appointed President. On a personal note I would like to thank John for his service and his friendship. As President, I can only hope that I can build the same trust as he had with all of our members.
